why does windows vista crash after installing Zone Alarm Security Suite?
After installing it crashes before getting to the desktop. Windows advises to upgrade anti-virus, which I cant since windows won't run, and check for multiple anti-virus programs and contact Zone. I did the second 2 and still awaiting on response from Zone. Tried making Zone not start at windows in safe mode through msconfig, safe result. am i infected?
Same thing happened to me when I knew there was a virus in my system - I tried to install Norton Anti-Virus and it switched off my computer. Viruses can do this if they recognise the Anti-Virus software and Zone Alarm is well known.
I reformatted and re-installed everything.
There is a way of stepping through the boot-up sequence and selecting or de-selecting programmes that run at start up. Can't remember how, but it is possible.
