I have a wooden storage chest that was stained. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get rid of the smell?
You can try placing cedar blocks/balls in it. They can be easily purchased from Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, and even some drugstores like Walgreens or CVS. If budget is not so tight, you can even line the inside with cedar. These options will take care of any smell inside the chest.
If the smell is in the room that the chest sits in, try spraying Lysol in the room and make sure the room is well ventilated.
If you have nice weather, you can always place it outside(not in direct sun light) like on a patio or porch, and let it air out.
You can also try incense in the room that the chest sits in, if that is where the odor is.
